Automatic Framing System (AFS)
March 2007
Tajima USA Sales & Support By Hirsch International Corp. announces the release of a revolutionary new product for the embroidery industry. The AFS (Automatic Framing System) is a cutting-edge device that allows Embroiderers to easily and effectively create patches and emblems from scratch, without the need of a merrowing machine or textile cutter.
The heart of the system is a base unit which mounts to the pantograph of the machine. The base unit houses a feed system and sewing window. During production, single-use paper frames (size 12 x 12 cm) are automatically fed through the base unit into the sewing window upon demand. (These frames are on a continuous roll and offered in quantities of 100 frames per unit.) The paper frames support a special AFS foil which is used to form the underlying support for the embroidery, rather than fabric. Upon completion of the sewing, the system advances to the next blank frame and embroidery is ready to begin again. Finished, ready-to-use emblems are easily removed from the foil upon completion.
Kris Janowski, Executive Vice-President Of Sales & Marketing for Tajima USA Sales & Support By Hirsch International Corp. comments, "patches and emblems have always been a part of this industry, but up until now, most embroiderers avoided them due to the complex nature of production. The AFS system changes all that and opens up the doors for any shop to offer the service, thereby expanding their income opportunities. It's a truly unique product that will have a very positive impact on the embroidery industry."
